Application | Ion pair chromatography reagent Sodium decane sulfonate is an indispensable special reagent for high performance liquid chromatography. It is combined with phosphate or acetate, and organic improvers (methanol or Acetonitrile) composed of an aqueous buffer system (mobile phase), which forms a neutral association under a certain equilibrium state, and generates an ion pair with an analyte of opposite charge and remains on the reversed-phase column, to achieve the purpose of separation. However, the sodium decane sulfonate produced by the existing manufacturers has low purity and poor solubility, which leads to unsatisfactory separation effect and fails to achieve the purpose of detection. |
preparation | a method for preparing and purifying sodium decane sulfonate, an ion-pair chromatography reagent, comprises the following steps:(1) sulfonation: adding 126 grams of anhydrous sodium sulfite and 450ml of water to a 1000ml three-mouth bottle equipped with a cooling reflux device and mechanical stirring, adding 125 grams of bromodecane and 1.2 grams of tetrapropylammonium bromide, heating and refluxing for 16 hours, until the reaction solution is clarified and not layered. (2) Purification: evaporate the water in the reaction mixture under reduced pressure at 85 ℃/20mmHg, dry the remaining solid and pulverize it, put it into a Soxhlet extractor, extract it with 1300ml of absolute ethanol to obtain 162g of crude product, recrystallize with 2600ml of absolute ethanol, and filter to obtain pure product. (3) Drying: Place the purified product in a vacuum drying oven and dry it at 80 ℃/100mmHg for 2 hours to obtain 132g of finished product (yield 61%) with a content ≥ 99.6%. |
Use | High pressure liquid chromatography is used as an ion association reagent. Peptide and protein analysis. Intermediates for the preparation of antistatic polyester fibers. Anionic detergent. Ion pair reagent for HPLC, including polypeptide and protein analysis. ion association reagents for HPLC (including peptides and proteins) analysis. |
